Melanie began her pet care career as a vet tech in Germany. This experience fueled her passion for dog training and boarding. After moving to the U.S. in 2011, she achieved her ABC Certified Dog Trainer and AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator certifications. She is passionate about guiding families to build balanced relationships with their dogs, focusing on obedience training and delving into the root causes of behavioral issues. Her dedication is evident in her approach to training, aimed at fostering a harmonious and joyful bond between pets and their owners.

With over 15 years of experience, Melanie is adept at providing tailored, safe, and comfortable accommodations, ensuring a homely experience for every canine guest while their owners are away. Melanie extends her compassion for animals through founding L&R Rescue, a non-profit dedicated to saving and rehabilitating unwanted shelter pets. She volunteers tirelessly, often saving animals moments from euthanasia, and has acquired extensive experience in treating a variety of medical conditions. Her work with L&R Rescue underscores her deep commitment to giving a second chance to the most vulnerable animals, enriching her expertise in animal care and behavior.
